Eric has a proven track record with clients by delivering strategic, time-sensitive advice on operational and environmental risks to assist companies execute their most important transactions. Eric is Executive Vice President and Head of Pilko’s Global Transactions Practice, with responsibility for the operational excellence and environmental, health & safety (EHS) functions during all phases of the transaction lifecycle. In this role, he advises multi-national clients on successfully identifying and negotiating Operational Risks and EHS liabilities on cross-border and global transactions. His extensive experience advising clients includes buyside and sellside mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, privatizations, joint venture formations and refinancing in the chemical, energy and power industries. With over 20 years in these industries, Eric’s client list reads like a who’s who of the chemical and energy industries including: Shell, ExxonMobil, Valero, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, El Paso, PetroChina, Petroplus, Spectra Energy, LyondellBasell, BASF, Dow, Mitsubishi Rayon, Mitsui, Sasol, PTT Chemical, Duke Energy, New York State Electric and Gas, Celanese, GEA Group, Henkel, Crystal and Saudi Aramco. Some of Eric’s key transactions experience at Pilko include: Sasol’s acquisition of Condea Vista, which was later documented by Sasol as an example of a best practice; Henkel’s divestiture of Cognis; Shell’s acquisition of Texaco’s interests in Equilon and Motiva joint ventures; El Paso’s divestiture of its Eagle Point and Aruba refineries; and Chevron Corporation and Phillips Petroleum Company’s joint venture to form Chevron Phillips Chemical Company Prior to joining Pilko in 1992, Eric worked for Hess Corporation and served as refinery process engineer at the St. Croix refinery overseeing technical service, engineering and operations. Eric earned a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. |
