Before joining Pilko & Associates, Alan spent nearly 15 years working in the Health, Safety and Environmental sector at ConocoPhillips. Serving as a manager within this field, he was responsible for the development and implementation of a program designed to install revolutionary environmental controls.

In addition to maintaining stakeholder relations, Alan reported to the Europe and Asia Pacific President and was a member of the European leadership team. Having functional accountability for the HSE $6 billion worth of assets, including five refineries and over 1,000 retail sites, Alan helped achieve industry leading accident and incident rates at ConocoPhillips’ Humber Refinery. Under his leadership, the ConocoPhillips business consistently ranked in the top quartile of European manufacturing businesses as well as the industry leader in the Asia Pacific retail businesses (Malaysia and Thailand).

Throughout his career, Alan has been recognized for his strong technical and operational background, his extensive experience in both process and occupational safety, as well as his ability to provide practical HSE management systems, programs and solutions that are applicable to a wide range of operations, countries, and cultures. The combination of Alan’s extensive experience in addition to his international acumen position him well to advise companies and their stakeholders in these complex, multi-jurisdictional situations across transactions, operational excellence and governance and assurance needs.

Before his career began in the Health, Safety, and Environmental sector, Alan obtained a first-class honors degree from Teesside in chemical engineering and currently resides in Buckinghamshire
