Irineu Marcondes, Jr. joins Pilko with 30+ years in the chemical industry. He most recently was Vice President of Operations at BP Biofuels based in Sao Paulo. Prior to that, Irineu spent 26 years at Rohm and Haas where he filled many roles. His most current role was as Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain for Europe, Middle East and Africa based in Switzerland. Prior to that, he was Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain based in both Brazil and Mexico; and Production Area Manager for MMA & GMAA monomers and Sulfuric acid based in Houston, TX. Earlier in his career, he held positions such as Production and Technical Manager for Polymers, Production Manager for Agricultural Products, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Process Engineer and Development Engineer, all at the Jacarei plant in Brazil.

Irineu has lived and worked in different countries and led operations in several business areas. Early in his career, he learned the importance of Environmental, Health and Safety for operations. He has always intended to ensure continuous improvement of the EHS aspects. As a result, he took plans to achieve “Best in Class” results in process safety and reportable accidents as well as developed specific sustainability projects in the communities where he operated.

Irineu has dedicated himself to helping companies improve their productivity, safety, risk management, portfolio management, financial results, due diligences, and on company’s strategy. At the same time that he has worked as a consultant, he has managed his own construction company.

Irineu received his Chemical Engineering EEL USP in 1982 and took several courses in the areas of Leadership, Engineering, Supply Chain, Technical and Business, Supply Chain at MIT and Marketing at the Wharton school. Irineu is married with two children and is based in Brazil. He speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
