Jeremy Cross is a senior petrochemical and polymer manufacturing executive with more than 35 years of experience in polyethylene production, operations management, process technology, commissioning, start-up, and manufacturing excellence. Throughout his career with Shell and Basell, Jeremy has held leadership roles across Europe and North America, supporting world-scale petrochemical and polymer facilities from design through full-rate operations.

Jeremy is recognized internationally for his expertise in polyethylene manufacturing and operational readiness. Most notably, he served as Production Unit Manager for Shell Polymers Monaca, where he led the production organization through the design, construction, commissioning, start-up, and operation of three new polyethylene units with a combined capacity of approximately 1.6 million tonnes per year. He was accountable for the safe and successful start-up of the facility, development of the operating organization, operational readiness planning, and delivery of on-specification products to support commercialization of Shell’s multi-billion-dollar polyethylene business.

Prior to Shell Polymers, Jeremy held leadership positions in operations management, health, safety and environmental performance, project readiness, and asset management. He was instrumental in implementing Shell’s Flawless Start-Up and Project Delivery initiatives and supported major energy and chemical projects globally, including Chevron’s Gorgon LNG Project. His experience includes operational readiness assessments, start-up audits, reliability improvement, technology evaluation, process design, technology transfer, and organizational effectiveness programs.

At Basell, Jeremy held a series of technical and operational leadership roles supporting global LDPE manufacturing operations, technology licensing, benchmarking, and process technology development. He also led manufacturing organizations responsible for the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of world-scale polyethylene facilities.

Jeremy combines deep technical expertise with practical operational leadership, bringing a strong focus on safety, operability, reliability, organizational effectiveness, and asset performance. His experience supports clients in operational due diligence, manufacturing assessments, project readiness reviews, operational risk evaluations, and performance improvement initiatives across the petrochemical and chemical industries.

He provides clients with rare firsthand experience leading one of the world’s largest recent polyethylene start-ups, combined with decades of operating, technology, and project readiness expertise across the petrochemical industry. His insights help investors, owners, and operators identify operational risks, improve readiness, and maximize asset performance throughout the facility lifecycle.

Jeremy holds a Master of Arts degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
