Jim joined Pilko & Associates in December 2020, after working at Edwards Energy Consultants and an experienced 45 years of engineering and management experience in the chemical and refining industries. His engineering career began at Tennessee Eastman Company, where he spent five years as a process engineer for the manufacture of photographic, food and other fine chemicals. The balance of his experience has been associated with the operation, design, and management of refining facilities both on a national as well as an international scope.

Jim’s project experience served as a principal in the design and construction of major expansions. Some of which resulting in the largest refineries in Saudi Arabia and the United States. After retiring from Saudi Refining, Inc. as Vice President of Operations in 2016, he worked at Edwards Energy Consultants to develop options to improve vacuum residue processing economics for the manufacture of low sulfur fuel oil that meets IMO 2020 specifications.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He currently resides in Houston, Texas.
