John Hutcherson

John “Hutch” Hutcherson comes to Pilko with over 45 years of experience in the petrochemicals and refining business. John started his career as an operator for Lyondell and completed his career as the Site Manager for the Flint Hills Resources Propane Dehydrogenation Plant in Houston.

Hutch was instrumental in building and leading the Petrologistics team for the startup of the world’s largest on-purpose propylene production unit. During his long career, he served in various operations leadership positions, including a stint within the Process Safety Group. He served as a Shift Supervisor, Production Superintendent, Production Manager and Site Manager. During this time, Hutch used his expertise to develop “world class” shift organizations that delivered superior results in a safe, environmentally sound, cost competitive manner. His approach to leadership is a “servant leadership model” that creates a high trust environment that is focused on continuous improvement. Doing Better tomorrow, what was done well today.

He has the ability to connect well with the shift organization and the leaders within that group to build and sustain a competitively advantaged shift organization.

Hutch has served on the boards of the East Harris County Manufacturing Association, Association of Chemical Industry of Texas, Economic Alliance Port of Houston Region and the Children’s Museum of Houston.

Hutch resides in Texas.
