John Mackowiak brings to Pilko 40 years’ experience in the energy industry.  John has uniquely diverse C-level bandwidth and success in executive management, economic analysis and implementing strategy.

From 2011 – 2014, John was responsible for M&A process, contract development and internal evaluations/execution at Colonial Pipeline.  Prior to that, he was Vice President at Oiltanking Americas.  There, he was responsible for investments, development contracts, and growth initiatives of the firm.

In 2000, John was Vice President at Royal Vopak responsible for commercial development, acquisitions, divestitures, ventures and growth strategy.  John was also Vice President at Shore Terminals in Martinez, CA responsible for commercial development, acquisitions, ventures and growth strategy.

Earlier in his career, he was Vice President at GATX Terminals where he implemented a customer friendly, Economic Value Added (EVA) based business model that resulted in divestiture of several plants and $10m+ in annual cash flow increases.  John was also responsible for management of methanol handling and storage in a USGC terminal.

John received his MBA, Double Major: Finance and Marketing Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and Bachelor of Science and Graduate Study, Economics, The Illinois State University.  John is a Certified Public Accountant.
