Joe has 40 years of broad experience in the Chemical and Utility Industries at frontline levels.  His specialties include:  Global knowledge of electrical safety standards, Project Management, Electrical Maintenance Testing and Reliability, Power System modeling and studies, Hazardous Area Classification, Control Systems, Process Instrumentation and most phases of Construction.

Highlights of Joe’s achievements include:

  • Team leader for the Electrical, Instrument and Systems portion of a corporate project for a Polymer reactor that ultimately became the most productive and flexible reactor in the Rohm and Haas global network.
  • Project Manager for transitioning an aging radial power system from the early 1940’s to a modern, redundant and reliable system while reducing the original budget by 40%.
  • Project Manager for a time critical Wastewater Pre-Treatment Facility to allow for continued operations for the entire site.
  • Led a multi-national electrical team in a two-week assessment of a tsunami damaged plant in Japan in 2011 and restored power within one week.
  • Modernization and redesign of the global Dow process for electrical safety and reliability auditing of over 800 plants.
  • Re-creating and re-writing the Dow global electrical safety standards based only on requirements that were translated into seven languages.

Joe’s employment history: Baltimore Gas and Electric, Duke Power Company, Rohm and Haas and The Dow Chemical Company.  This experience spans from design and construction through production operations.  He has served in roles of: maintenance, reliability, design, project and process engineering, construction and production operations.  He also served as Project Manager on smaller in-plant projects.  Some of his more recent in-depth knowledge centers on:   Bonding and Grounding, Hazardous Area Classification, and Electrical Safety and Maintenance.

After a nine-year retirement, Joe is now eager to share his expertise assisting companies in achieving their business and operational goals.  He is a proven leader, team player, and offers innovative and cost-effective solutions to the most demanding situations.

Joe has a BS in Electrical Engineering (power option), along with a Nuclear Science and Engineering option from Virginia Tech.  He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee (status – retired).

Joe and Theresa (Teri) have been married for 43 years, have 4 children and six grandchildren and live in Southern Indiana.  Hobbies include woodworking, hiking, and exploring North America, National and State Parks in our Airstream trailer.
