Joy Hansen is an experienced Refining Technical manager and Major Capital Projects Director.  Joy was on the leadership team for two mid-sized refineries where she led all aspects of engineering, process optimization, mechanical integrity and process safety teams.  Joy held management positions at CVR, CountryMark, Shell, BP and Amoco.  She has over 20 years of experience in oil and gas operations & technology management, business development, corporate planning, projects and process development.  She led a project team to replace the converter section (Reactor/Regenerator) of a refinery Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit as well as other projects for multiple refinery units with a focus on project Front-end development.

Joy was an Area Operations Manager at the Shell Deer Park Refinery and later the project liaison/adviser to Shell Vice-presidents for CO₂ reduction and energy efficiency projects.  She was an Operation area manager at the Texas City 450,000 barrel per day refinery.

A native of Colorado, Joy graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
