Kriengkrai (Guy) Wisanrakkit joins Pilko with 30+ years’ experience in the chemical industry, retiring from Dow Chemical in 2019 as Reactive Chemicals Asia Pacific Geographical Leader in Thailand where he established and developed the reactive chemicals (RC) capability in the Asia Pacific region and responsible for defining and implementing regional RC support strategies. He also worked in partnership with the regional EH&S and Process Safety leaders to understand and address the business needs. Kriengkrai also held the position of RC Subject Matter Expert helping Dow client partners appropriately quantify and manage the RC hazards associated with their facilities by designing experiments (guided by thermodynamic principles and plant operating conditions), performing data interpretation, and providing consulting support. He also partnered with Process Safety personnel to engage in the analysis of worst-case scenarios and participate in root cause investigations of reactive chemicals incidents/accidents.

Kriengkrai also held many positions at Dow such as:

• Regional Improvement Engineer – Growth Project Leader, Coatings Technology Center reporting to Regional Improvement Leader, Dow Coating Materials where he started up a new Coatings facility in Vietnam.
• Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS) Project Specialist, Dow Advanced Materials Division reporting to the Global IMS Project Team Leader based in the U.S. implementing a productivity improvement program using the Integrated Performance Management system and the Dow Work Processes at heritage Rohm and Haas manufacturing sites in Dow Advanced Materials division across Asia Pacific Region. IMS successfully leveraged the strengths of both Dow Chemical (on Operating Disciplines, and Work Processes) and Rohm and Haas (21st Century Manufacturing) to achieve the integration synergy savings.

Kriengkrai held the following positions at Rohm and Haas Chemical (Thailand):

• Plant Manager reporting to APR General Manager for SE Asia, and APR Supply Chain Director managing the manufacturing site to produce water-based acrylic emulsion and polyacrylic acid solution, which are main chemicals used in various industrial applications such as architectural coating, adhesives, construction, consumer detergent and water treatment
• Plant Technical Manager, where he started up emulsion and polyacrylic acid plants and led the technical team, production process and quality control.

Kriengkrai began his career at Siam Synthetic Latex (a JV between Siam Cement and Dow Chemical, Bangkok) as Technical Service and Development Engineer.

Kriengkrai received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, NJ; his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA; and his Executive MBA from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kriengkrai is married with three children and enjoys meditation for Willpower and Mindfulness development, swimming and fitness. He is based in Bangkok.
