Patrick (Pat) Killian
Patrick Killian is a chemical industry executive and strategy consultant with over 25 years of experience in a variety of end-use markets. He has a Bachelor’s of Chemical Engineering degree from Cornell University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Patrick started as an engineer in oil refineries and since then has held senior roles in both strategy and global business management at Sunoco, Rohm and Haas, Dow and Monument Chemical. At Monument Chemical, he was responsible for marketing and branding as well as company strategy – including acquisitions strategy and deal execution.
At the end of 2019, he founded his own strategy consulting business with a focus on privately held chemical manufacturers in North America that were either getting ready for sale or had been recently sold and required a strategic intervention to optimize them. Engagements included serving as interim CEO for a PE-owned carve-out to stabilize commercial processes and take the company through a sale. He also served as an interim Chief Commercial Officer for a multinational carve-out with a focus on rebuilding commercial tools, processes and talent, plus integrating two additional acquisitions. Patrick has proven success at working with management teams to turn their knowledge into actions and to fill in gaps needed to quickly develop clear, aligned, actionable business strategies.
